This draft describes the data practices planned for CalmWalk. Before public launch, the legal entity, contact details, hosting region, retention periods, and live providers will be verified and completed here.
1. Who we are

2. What CalmWalk is
CalmWalk is a behavior logging and reflection app for owners of reactive dogs. It helps users record walks, trigger events, recovery, and calm walks. It is not a veterinary, medical, diagnostic, or professional training service.
3. Data we collect
- Account data: email address and authentication identifiers when users create or link an account with email, Apple, or Google.
- Dog profile data: name and any optional breed, age or birthdate, sex, weight, neutered status, notes, and profile photo a user chooses to add.
- Walk and log data: dates/times, log type, triggers, reaction, distance category, intensity, recovery, custom triggers, and optional notes.
- Preferences: language, units, reminder preference, and account-level app settings.
- Purchase and entitlement data: subscription tier and purchase status needed to provide or restore premium features. Payments are processed by Apple or Google, not directly by CalmWalk.
- Support and deletion-request data: contact details and the information users submit when contacting support or requesting deletion.
- Technical/security data: account sessions, timestamps, and limited server or infrastructure logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
4. How and why we use data
We use data to provide the app, save and synchronize user-selected records, protect accounts, provide support, restore purchases, respond to deletion requests, and comply with legal obligations. Optional dog photos are used only to display the profile users create. Reminders are optional and are scheduled locally on the device.
5. Where data is stored and who receives it
CalmWalk stores app records on the device and, for signed-in accounts, uses Supabase infrastructure for authentication, database storage, and private dog-photo storage. Photos are stored privately and accessed using account-level controls. Apple and Google process sign-in and/or purchase data when their services are used. We do not sell personal data and do not use advertising or advertising trackers in the current product.
6. Sharing and exports
We do not share walk or dog data for advertising. A PDF report is created and shared only when a user chooses to export it. Once a user sends a report to another person or service, that recipient’s privacy practices apply.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain account-linked app data while an account remains active, subject to any disclosed retention period and legal requirement. Users can delete their account in the app through Settings. Users can also request deletion without reinstalling the app at our account deletion page. Deletion is intended to remove the account and associated synced profile, dog, photo, log, and custom-trigger data. Any limited retention for backups, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations will be stated here before launch.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where users live, they may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. Users may turn local reminders off in the app or system settings and may remove optional profile photos. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect data, including encryption in transit, authenticated access, account-level database controls, and private storage for dog photos. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Children
CalmWalk is not directed to children. The applicable minimum age and any region-specific requirements will be published before launch.
11. Changes and contact
